"Nobody's fighting, 'cause nobody knows what to save." - Gil Scott-Heron
This one line in Gil Scott-Heron’s song, “Winter In America,” has played a vital part in Keith’s commitment to the community and data analytics. He understands the importance of using data as a tool for social change.
Keith’s preferred pronoun, “he/him/his,” comes from what was previously known as “South Central” Los Angeles. After completing high school, he joined the Marines and served on one combat tour in Iraq.
In 2012, he earned a Master’s degree in Public Policy with a focus on Criminal and Juvenile Justice from American University. He started his career with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, where he works on juvenile justice research, evaluations, and other state initiatives. Keith is proudly married to Omar Kamal Hasan-Towery and is the father of twins, Kemar and Journey. He is a “behind-the-scenes” community leader, hiking enthusiast, and a Mariah Carey enthusiast.
Keith’s passion is working with individuals who share his commitment to improving their communities.
